Please note that preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are separate and apart from ongoing systematic religious education that we offer during
Catholic Release Time.

Catholics believe the Eucharist, or Holy Communion, is both a sacrifice and a meal. We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. As we receive Christ's Body and Blood, we also are nourished spiritually and brought closer to God.

Besides the Weekend Masses, we also celebrate Eucharist on Tuesdays at 12 noon, Wednesdays through Friday at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of the Pines Church, Nevis. Welcome to join us.
 
We will be happy to help your children prepare for the First Eucharist. Children must meet certain requirements to receive First Holy Communion: 

• Child must be in second grade or up.
• Children must have regularly attended faith formation classes the year prior to preparation and be attending regularly the year they prepare for this Sacrament.

• OLP must have on file a copy of the baptismal certificate of child preparing for this Sacrament of Holy Communion.
• The family must also register with the Parish Office, (218) 652-4005.
